It's not a dream, it's the Green Chile Cheeseburger Smackdown!

Calling all burger-loving influencers! The inimitable #EdibleSmackdown is BACK! If the idea of touring some of Santa Fe and Albuquerque’s best burgers sounds like the best day ever, read on!


The Edible New Mexico Green Chile Cheeseburger Smackdown is an annual competition to find the best green chile cheeseburger in New Mexico. The battling chefs bring some serious culinary chops to the competition, proving that truly great burgers go beyond American cheese, lettuce, and tomato. The competition is open to any willing New Mexico restaurant. 

Right now, there are twelve restaurants in the ring, and in July six secret judges will travel the state to determine the top seven burgers. Those finalists will move on to Edible New Mexico Smackdown on September 11, 2021 at The Bridge located at Santa Fe Brewing Co. in Santa Fe. This event is SO MUCH FUN! In addition to the most amazing burgers in the state, Edible brings in craft beers and vendors who compliment the event, including producers of beef,  condiments, spices, pickles, and ice cream—showcasing New Mexico’s diverse local food community. 

So to celebrate and promote the #EdibleSmackdown, we’re hosting a green chile cheeseburger social media campaign! We’re looking for influencers to attend social media crawls at restaurants that feature this year’s Edible Smackdown contenders in Albuquerque and Santa Fe on July 27 and July 28, respectively. In addition to attending the restaurant crawl, the selected influencers will also receive a VIP ticket to join the entire crew at the Simply Social Media VIP tables during the Edible Smackdown in September!

Here’s what we are looking for in an influencer for this particular campaign. 

  1. Someone who can share their burger experience in a way that promotes the participating restaurants and the Edible New Mexico Smackdown. We're more interested in storytelling than quick emoji captions. 

  2. Someone who consistently creates opportunities for conversation about the topic(s) they post about. 

  3. Someone who consistently responds to all comments made on their posts to further the conversation (or at least the majority—DM for collabs doesn’t deserve your time!).

  4. Someone whose niche or aesthetic (if they have one) will jive with posting about burgers! There are no vegetarian or vegan options. 



Here’s what will be required in exchange.

Two (2) Instagram carousel posts promoting the restaurants the influencers went to during the crawl. Original stories that promote each of the restaurants and one promoting the Edible New Mexico Smackdown.
